A meeting with director François Royet and painter Charles Belle, organised in partnership with the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Dole.
"A film about the work of painter Charles Belle. A film that took over sixteen years to make. Par-Delà les silences is not, strictly speaking, a portrait of Charles Belle, even though we follow him during his sixteen years of creative work. For me, it's the culmination of a very long piece of work that questions the creative process, the commitment and constancy that it requires, and the place that art takes in the life of a human being.
