In Seville, Count Almaviva wants to conquer Rosina, jealously guarded by the old doctor Bartholo, who wishes to marry her with the help of the sinister Don Basilio. With the help of Figaro, his former valet turned barber, the Count tricks his way to his beloved and wins her heart. But the old tutor is less foolish than he seems, the young ingenue less innocent, and Figaro more skilful and sympathetic than his master. Insolent and clever, he makes fun of everyone. Performed by the singers of the Opéra national du Capitole de Toulouse and the musicians of the Orchestre Victor Hugo, this version, adapted by librettist Dorian Astor and directed by Frédique Lombart, takes the audience through a series of gags and misunderstandings. These improbable situations, however, do not obscure the essential point: young people are determined to escape the authority of ridiculous old men...
